Rev. Curt Davis, Lead Pastor

Lisa Grant, Co-Director of Family Ministries, working with Children

I am passionate about sharing God’s love and grace with children and families, and I feel called to help every child know they are loved by God and to experience how amazing a relationship with Jesus can be. I have been serving as a Children’s Director in Methodist churches for almost 20 years. Teaming with parents is one of my main priorities—we’re all in this together!

My husband Julian and I are parents to six children, and I began volunteering in Children’s Ministries when my kids were little.  I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and also earned my Child Development Associate degree while teaching preschool.  I feel very blessed to serve our kids and families here at PFUMC and in our community and beyond!

Trevor Shaw, Director of Worship and Arts

I grew up in Northumberland, Pennsylvania. I was immersed in church music as a child, singing and playing trombone for services from a young age, nearly always accompanied by his mother, a church organist and choir director. I earned a degree in music at the University of North Texas, where I played trombone in the renowned One O’Clock Jazz Lab Band. My professional life led me into a career of music within the United Methodist Church, beginning with eleven years as the Music and Arts Director of the Denton Wesley Foundation. While there, I began writing music for the choirs he conducted, and quickly discovered his love of composition.

Since moving to Austin in 2013, I have been active as both a music performer and teacher. I am the founding member and the Artistic Director of Inversion Ensemble, a choral group dedicated to performing new musical works. I also co-own and I am the principal arranger of the Christmas caroling company, Tinsel. Trevor has conducted choirs throughout the US and the UK. His compositions have been performed by a variety of choral and instrumental ensembles on five continents.

Laura Grass, Children’s Church Specialist

I have grown up in this church doing many activities such as going on Youth Mission Trips, serving on the Leadership Team in high school as the youth representative, member of the Praise Power Children's Choir, Youth Volunteer in the Nursery, and now the Children's Church Teacher. I graduated from McNeil HS in 2015. I am working full-time at McNeil HS working with students in wheelchairs that are non-verbal. I go to Austin Community College and major in Child Development.

As the Children's Church Teacher, I teach the children about Jesus and how he loves us all. The children come out of the service during the Sermon and they learn about Jesus through stories and play. They get to experience the stories by acting them out with the characters provided. There is also opportunity for arts and crafts from time to time.
