Rev. Russell Floyd, Senior Pastor
Russell and Terri Floyd, and those crazy grandkids
Since graduating from Baylor University, I have served the church for more than 30 years. primarily as a Sr. Minister over four decades in six different appointments. The churches have ranged in size, location, and demographic membership makeup. Every church I have served has contributed to my core values of: encouraging discipleship, building up people, developing staff and teams, envisioning new ministries, growing membership, strengthening stewardship, and leading worship.
I am married to Terri who is an educational administrator. We share four grown children and five grandchildren who bring genuine smiles into our lives. Last spring, we made the decision to relocate to the Austin area to be closer to two of our four children, along with three of our five grandchildren.
I love the game of golf. I am a general sports nerd. Saltwater fishing calls our name at least once a year. Let's talk Tour de France. I am the household cook while Terri runs along behind me, cleaning up my mess.
I am thrilled to serve FUMC, of Pflugerville. It is my style to visit in person with anyone wanting to know more. We can chat in the setting of your choice, hearing the stories that make you who you are. Let's share a cup of coffee, cold drink, or meal when you have some time.
Derrick Ouellette, Director of Student Ministries
I consider it a great joy and privilege to be the Director of Student Ministries here at Pflugerville First UMC. I previously worked for eight (8) years as a Director of the Boy’s Dormitory at San Marcos Academy, and It was there I learned about working with youth and helping them to navigate the ups and downs of life. Currently, I am a student at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary pursuing an Masters of Divinity and eventual ordination within the United Methodist Church. Additionally, I am serving within the TX Army National Guard and this service will sometimes take me away on weekends. I am married to my wonderful wife, Jessica , and we have a son, Davis, who is 5. I look forward to working with each and everyone one of you in building a strong spiritual foundation within the students of Pflugerville UMC!
Stephanie Katauskas, Director of Children's Education
My name is Stephanie Katauskas and I have been a member of Pflugerville United Methodist Church for 9 years. My husband Brent and I are both from Illinois and decided to settle in Texas straight out of college. I started my career as an Architectural Historian and I'm excited to make the transition to Director of Children's Education. I remember when I first came to PFUMC, I saw what an amazing family-friendly church it was, I just knew it was where I wanted to raise my family. My husband and I did not have children yet, but I just knew that this was where my kids would grow up. I've held that feeling on my heart and now that my boys are here I'm so glad that they have an amazing church family. As the Director of Children's Education, a church member, and a parent, I have a vested interest in our church kids and the wonderful programs at PFUMC.
Hi! My name is Robin Jalufka, and I have been the preschool director at Pecan Street Christian School for 15 years. My husband Danny and I have been married for over 30 years and have 2 adult children. Working in Early childhood in a Faith based environment is what I am passionate about. I am so blessed to have an awesome team of teachers. and families to share God's love with each day!
Dan Maxey, Choir Director
My parents say I could sing before I could talk. While growing up in Colorado I was always involved with choir and instrumental music, both in school and church. I served 20 years in the Navy as a submariner, but I always found groups to sing with no matter where I was stationed. Living in Austin since 1999, my wife Margaret and I have raised eldest daughter Dana, son Jason, and twin sons Ryan and Kevin. I have acted as interim choir director here at Pflugerville UMC on three different occasions. Now as the staff choir director, I am excited by the opportunity to build a vocal music ministry where both singers and the congregation are moved by God’s spirit through music.
Sandy Monzingo Administrative Council Chair
I have been a very proud member of First United Methodist Church of Pflugerville since 1983. Jeff and I were the first couple married at our church June 2, 1984. Through the years, I have had the privilege to work on several FUMC committees. In addition to being chair of our church council, I serve on the board of the Cory Monzingo Foundation, which was established to support the research for treatments and a cure for Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT) in memory of our son. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jeff, our son Clay and his wife, Kellie and our grandsons, Blaine and Brooks. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving our church, and I am excited to see what the future holds for FUMC.
Dense Cornellus, Office Manager
Hi, my name is Denise Cornelius, I am the Office Manager at FUMC and I will be happy to help you with any administrative matters at the church. My duties consist of assisting the Pastor, taking care of membership, compiling data needed for our Conference and taking care of the office duties. I was born and raised in San Diego, CA and have lived in Texas for 19 years. I have a wonderful husband and two adult children. I have had the pleasure of working at FUMC for 19 years. The congregation here is full of friendly people who love God.
Coe Croce, Lay Leader
I love Jesus, fishing, and working with kids. I grew up in Petersburg, Texas, a small rural community, and I was blessed to participate in the many activities that being in a small school allowed. I was a very active member in 4H, FFA, and in my youth groups. I knew early on that after attending Angelo State University I wanted to work with kids in an educational capacity. My wife, Pam, and I have been members at Pflugerville UMC since 2012, and we are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this year. My son Ryan was my joy until the two grandkids, Evadeen and Eli, came along. We also have a beautiful daughter-in-love, Stacey.
My efforts to serve God through Lay Leadership duties, the Pflugerville UMC kids ministry and other youth ministries are similar to what God had planned for me back when I was just a youngster.
