A word about security
Please note the password management is an important concept on any web site, and this one is no different. Passwords should be at least 12 characters and contain At least one:
lower case letter
upper case letter
Special Character like @#$& etc.
It would take a hacker with serious computing power to break a good password. The hackers are out there waiting for a person with a weak password. Don’t be that person.
Another important issue is Logging out.
When you join a web site like FUMC, you send Credentials ( Your user name and password ) to a Server running on that site. Based on those tokens, the Server provides access to its resources based on your privileges. That access is considered a session. That session stays open while you are logged in and terminates when you log out. Many people just click on the X and close the window expecting the session to close. The Server does not close the session at this time. It keeps the session open for a period of time and then eventually times out the session and closes it. During the time you closed our window and until the server times out our session, you leave your session open for someone to utilize. That someone may have bad intentions, like stealing your money or your credibility. The safest way to close the session is always look for the logout selection on any web site. This is usually your user profile. Lets see how to safely terminate square space.
While you are working in square Space editing and maintaining pages, you should notice a circle with your initials in it.
Should you select this bullet, It will take you to your session manager.
Selecting This Bullet PR will bring up a Session Drop down allowing you to logout. Please do this each time you exit Squarespace.
Done … You are logged out and your session is closed. Please do this each time. Thanks for taking time to read this.
